Commitment Statement of Abadis Medical Technologies Co. to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs)

Abadis Medical Technologies Co., as a pioneering knowledge-based company and the leading manufacturer of disposable suction bags in Iran, is committed to aligning its operations with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
We believe that industrial development holds true value only when it promotes public health, contributes to the conservation of natural resources, reduces environmental impacts, and encourages a culture of responsible consumption.

Key Objectives and Alignment with SDGs

  1. Good Health and Well-Being (SDG 3)
  • Enhancing patient and healthcare staff safety by eliminating direct contact with infectious fluids.
  • Improving hospital hygiene and reducing the risk of healthcare-associated infections.
  1. Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6)
  • Eliminating the traditional washing process of suction tanks, resulting in significant water savings.
  • This saving is scalable: each suction bag saves an average of 25 liters of water.
  • With thousands of bags used daily in hospitals, the total savings have continuously increased—by the end of 2023, more than 28 million liters of water were saved, and the company currently achieves an average annual saving of about 10 million liters.
  1. Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7)
  • By removing the need for washing, sterilizing, and drying reusable tanks, consumption of electricity, steam, and disinfectants has been drastically reduced.
  • This contributes to a smaller carbon footprint and decreased reliance on non-renewable energy in hospitals.
  1. Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8)
  • Creating sustainable job opportunities in production, quality control, and export of knowledge-based medical products.
  • Expanding production capacity to nearly two million suction bags annually (as of 2023).
  • Strengthening local capabilities in medical device manufacturing and reducing dependency on imports.
  1. Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9)
  • Localizing suction bag production technology and developing domestic manufacturing infrastructure.
  • Expanding exports to regional markets, including Oman and Iraq, with plans to enter Central Asian markets.
  1. Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12)
  • Replacing high-consumption processes with safer and more efficient solutions.
  • Implementing the “No Paper Catalog” initiative, first launched at Iran Health 2022, where all printed materials were replaced with digital QR code catalogs.
  • Visitors supported the campaign by signing the “No-Paper Commitment Wall”, and since 2022, Abadis has completely discontinued printed catalogs.
  1. Climate Action (SDG 13)
  • Executing corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives such as the Green Zagros Tree-Planting Project to help restore damaged forest areas.
  • Targeting the annual planting of at least 1,000 trees in western Iran by 2027.
